Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) spokesperson Ebru Günay held a press conference at HDP General Office Building in Ankara and evaluated the latest developments regarding the Kurdish issue.
She spoke about the latest operations launched by Turkey against Kurdish fighters in the Medya Defence Zones. “Cross border military operations that has not and never will serve as a solution to the Kurdish question for over 40 years have been launched yet again.” she said. She then pointed to the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan as the keeper of the solution.
“It is Abdullah Öcalan that is the main political actor in any democratic solution to the Kurdish question and we all know that a Turkey that has not solved the Kurdish issue is a Turkey that cannot breathe.” she said.
HDP Spokesperson Günay also stated that all the democratic forces and people who want a peaceful solution for the Kurdish question must unite in a third way that does not only prioritise elections.
“It is a necessity for this moment of history” she said .
