Kurdish heritage is celebrated by designer Lara Dizeyee in her new range of Kurdish Haute Couture that has “taken Iraq by storm”, reported Vogue Arabia.
Dizeyee’s work exemplifies the intricate and colourful patterns that have come to define Kurdish fashion over the centuries. Each piece is uniquely tailored to reflect “how beautiful Kurdish clothing can be.”
Born in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, her branding compromises a nod to tradition, roots, and values while also playing to the imagination of the modern, typically future-looking Kurdish woman.
After gaining a degree in International Relations in the United States, Dizeyee moved back to Iraq, where she spend many years developing her leadership skills in the oil industry and in public administration, including a role as Human Resource Director at the American University of Iraq, Suleymaniyah. With an entrepreneurial spirit, Dizeyee has now applied her head strong determination into the launch of a new clothing line venture.
