Two Kurdish women, Hind Latif Al Khadir, the head of the Economic Committee of Til Shayir, and Sa’da Faysal Al Hermas, the co-president of Til Shayir Peoples’ Council, were abducted and murdered by ISIS on 22 January.
While worldwide reactions to the assassinations continue, Deir Ez-Zor women’s council executive Şehrezad El Casim spoke to Hawar News about the murders.
“These murders are attacking the will of women, they want to silence us”, said El Casim, adding, “They will never succeed since we do not fear them and will not remain silent on these terror attacks”.
She also said that they will continue to fight anyone who is against the democratic project that they have built in Rojava. “These women who were murdered are now symbols of our struggle”, she said, before calling on all democratic forces to stand by women from Rojava and support their resistance
