Turkish drones have targeted over 60 sites in Syria’s Kurdish-led northern regions, causing severe damage to energy, power, water, and oil facilities and causing at least 24 casualties.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, a US official confirmed that an American F-16 jet shot down a Turkish drone over the region.
Elsewhere, a drone attack at a high-profile military college graduation ceremony in Homs, Syria, left over 100 dead and 150 injured, sparking international calls for restraint and adherence to international law.
And thousands protested in northeast Syria’s Jazira (Cizîrê) region on Friday against Turkey’s military aggression targeting vital civilian infrastructure. These demonstrations were part of a broader wave of local and international reactions.
