Turkey’s nationalist Good Party rejects a coalition offer from main opposition Republican People’s Party, following suit of pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party by opting to contest independently in upcoming local elections.
In April, Kurdish journalist Abdurrahman Gök was arrested in Diyarbakir, Turkey, on terrorism charges. He was released on Tuesday during a second hearing, in which he claimed that professional journalistic activities had led to arrest.
In other news, Turkey warns Israel not to assassinate Hamas members on Turkish soil, after Israeli security agency Shin Bet declared intent to eliminate Hamas leaders globally.
