Four members of the Syrian Democratic Forces or SDF have been killed by a drone strike conducted by Turkey in the city of Qamishlo in North and East Syria. One of the victims of the attack was a commander who had previously lost a limb fighting ISIS.
A November 2019 Turkish airstrike in Northern Iraq’s Gara region killed Eva Maria Steiger, aged 31, a German environmental activist who joined Kurdish forces in the region, the People’s Defence Forces or HPG announced on Wednesday.

Kurdistan Workers’ Party or PKK leader, Abdullah Öcalan, warned of threats against the Yazidi community prior to the 2014 genocide, and in a poem penned by the imprisoned PKK leader in 2010 Öcalan expressed his advocacy for Yazidi people.
