Over 90 individuals are known to have been arrested across Turkey following an attack on the General Directorate of Security, including members of the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Congress and the Peoples’ Democratic Party.
Turkish police attacked both journalists and members of the pro-Kurdish Green Left and Peoples’ Democratic Parties during an attempted press conference in Istanbul following the arrests.
Turkish journalist Ayşenur Arslan was detained on Tuesday after her comments on the Ankara bombing led to her programme being taken off air and an investigation launched against her.
Meanwhile, Harvard University is launching its inaugural course covering Kurdish language and culture, responding to student-led advocacy with the “historic” announcement.
