Iran and Iraq have reached a bilateral agreement on the disarmament of Iranian Kurdish forces and also the evacuation of their military installations in the Kurdistan region. Following the announcement, the Kurdistan Regional Government told members of the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan and the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan to move their fighters to designated camps and disarm.
193 intellectuals and artists have released a joint statement in which they publicly criticised Turkey’s ongoing Kobane trial, calling it “unjust.” The trial implicates many members of the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP). Turkish Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca has responded to backlash following the exclusion of Kurdish from Turkey’s multi-lingual online prescription service. Koca claimed that five foreign languages were offered on the service due to the country’s rising success in health tourism but did not comment on the exclusion of Turkey’s second most widely-spoken language, Kurdish.
