The Turkish Interior Ministry has confirmed 98 detentions in raids across 18 provinces on Tuesday. Some of those detained were party representatives of the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party, accused of “propagating an illegal organisation on social media”.
The Kurdish Assembly in London calls for unity among the UK’s ethnic, religious, and cultural groups to fight against the criminalisation of minority communities, following a recent raid on the London Haringey Kurdish Community Centre.
The murder of Tahir Elçi, a distinguished Kurdish lawyer and Bar Association president, was remembered on Tuesday in Diyarbakir, Turkey, with attendees urging for clarity on what they believe to have been a strategic political manoeuvre.
Meanwhile, Israel and Hamas have agreed to extend pause in fighting for further two days, under Qatari and Egyptian mediation. Extension comes just over 12 hours before the initial truce was set to conclude, and after hostage exchange.
