In the Akbelen forest of southwestern Turkey, a determined environmental resistance has been ongoing since Monday, as villagers and activists unite against the construction of a lignite coal mine.
A video emerged on social media supporting allegations that Turkish soldiers deliberately sparked a fire in Mount Cudi (Çiyayê Cûdî).
Kurdish activist Xoşnav Ata ended his year-long solo protest at the OPCW headquarters, vowing to continue to fight against the alleged chemical weapon use by Turkey.
Five Kurdish detainees have been on a hunger strike in western Iran since 23 July to protest what they perceive as illegal detention and lack of attention regarding their case.
