Four civilians have been killed in a Turkish drone strike in the Biradost region of Iraqi Kurdistan. The strike came as Turkey’s foreign minister, Hakan Fidan, was visiting the region.
Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) Executive Council Member Zübeyir Aydar has voiced strong reservations about the recent visit of the Turkish Foreign Minister to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Turkey’s drone strikes are in “blatant violation” of international conventions, Free Journalists Union (YRA) Co-chair Dilyar Jezeiri said.
Amidst dire security, economic, and humanitarian conditions in Syria, the UN’s Special Envoy for the country has urgently called for united action from all conflict parties to rejuvenate a Syrian-led political process.
