The burial of Deniz Cevdet Bülbün, who was killed in an armed attack on the office of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) on 18 September, has been halted as an autopsy is required.
The family of Javad Heidari, who participated in the ‘Jin Jîyan Azadi’ resistance in Iran and was killed on 21 September 2022, was attacked by regime forces while attempting to hold a commemoration ceremony.
Jîna Amini and the ‘Jin Jîyan Azadi’ movement have been nominated for the 2023 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought, given to individuals or institutions defending freedom of thought worldwide.
And the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers has once again warned Turkey over its failure to implement rulings concerning philanthropist Osman Kavala and former co-chair of the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party Selahattin Demirtaş.
