The 20th Astana Talks on Syria concluded on Wednesday, resulting in a joint statement issued by Turkey, Syria, Russia, and Iran, which primarily focused on their strong opposition to the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.
Kurdish communities and their supporters around the globe continue to protest Turkey’s drone strike that targeted politicians from northeast Syria’s Autonomous Administration, and demanding an end to Turkish aggression in the region and calling for international solidarity.
Turkey’s pro-Kurdish Green Left Party brought the extensive deforestation of a southeastern region of the country to the attention of the Turkish Parliament, demanding answers from on who authorised the cutting, the purpose behind it, and the public interest served by such irreversible ecological destruction.
