A pro-Kurdish opposition party in Turkey has rebranded itself and announced a new vision under the name of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party, at a congress in Ankara on Sunday.
Bedran Çiya Kurd, the co-chair of the Foreign Relations Department of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, has called for the United Nations to launch an investigation into recent Turkish attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Delegates from Germany, Italy and France, detained in Turkey for protesting against the country’s military actions in North and East Syria, have reported physical and psychological abuse in detention.
Both Hamas and Israel have rejected calls for a ceasefire as Israel prepares for a full-scale ground operation. The United Nations said the Middle East is “on verge of abyss”.
