🔸 Reacting to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party’s (PKK) historic decision to disband, the pro-Kurdish People’s Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party has urged the Turkish parliament to seize the opportunity for peace and commit to democratic reforms.
🔸 Meanwhile, Devlet Bahçeli, leader of the government’s coalition partner and a key figure in recent developments, has publicly praised PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan’s role in steering the group towards peace.
🔸 President Erdoğan has stated that the PKK’s disbandment will be closely monitored to ensure it is genuine and irreversible, while opposition leaders continue to stress the need for an inclusive and comprehensive peace process.
🔸 In other news, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reports that over 5,500 civilians have been killed under al-Sharaa’s rule in Syria, amid escalating sectarian violence.
