The Centre for Human Rights in Iran, and the Kurdistan Human Rights Network have jointly released a new investigative report diving into a series of atrocities and crimes against humanity committed in Kurdish-majority city, Javanrud, by Iranian security forces in the violent crackdown which ensued during the women’s rights protested following the death of Iranian-Kurd Jina Amini.
Republican People’s Party MP, Sezgin Tanrikulu, has faced immense backlash after his criticism of the Turkish Armed Forces, and his acknowledgement of violations against the Kurdish population of Diyarbakir province. Despite this, and an ongoing investigation by the Ankara Public Prosecutor’s Office, Tanrikulu has stood by his comments.
Frankfurt, Germany hosted the 31st Kurdish Cultural Festival on Saturday. The event was attended by tens of thousands of individuals from across Europe. The Festival was an opportunity to celebrate Kurdish identity and culture but also served as a platform to advocate for unity in the Kurdish Community and freedom.
Turkish President Erdogan claims Ankara is ‘Upset’ after interaction with US President Biden at G20 leaders summit in New Delhi, India. Biden has apparently linked F-16 sales to Turkey with Turkey’s acceptance of Sweden’s NATO membership. Erdogan claims the decision lies with the Turkish parliament, not with him.
