1 November marks the anniversary of a call for international solidarity with the northeastern Syrian city of Kobani, a day known as ‘World Kobanê Day’, which commemorates the historic battle waged against ISIS in 2014.
On this day the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria has urged the international community to continue to support the people of North and East Syria in their ongoing fight against ISIS.
The Kurdistan Communities Union also marked the occasion to condemn what it described as Turkey’s “genocidal” actions in North and East Syria, and called for solidarity to safeguard the Rojava Revolution.
A minimum of 31 journalists have been killed in the war in Gaza, according to the Committee for Protection of Journalists. Chile and Colombia have recalled their ambassadors to Israel over the ongoing offensive in Gaza.
