A demonstration by pro-Kurdish groups against Sweden’s bid to join NATO faces backlash from the Turkish government, who demand the Nordic country stop the protest as part of its demands to greenlight the NATO process.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg told reporters on Thursday that he was planning to visit Turkish capital Ankara “in the near future” to discuss Sweden’s bid to join the alliance.
