📍 Recent Turkish military operations in Iraqi Kurdistan have raised concerns about drone strikes causing civilian casualties. The increase in strikes follows a security agreement between Turkey and the Kurdistan Regional Government.
📍 Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her two sons and her husband in an attack allegedly involving AKP associates, continues her protest at the Turkish parliament. Republican People’s Party leader Özgür Özel has expressed solidarity with her.
📍 The International Women’s Solidarity Network has launched a campaign calling for the release of Figen Yüksekdağ and 108 others imprisoned in connection with the Kobanê case.
📍 At a leading Turkish university, the graduation ceremony became the stage for student protests. Graduates carried banners critical of the government, turned their backs and whistled during the rector’s speech. The valedictorian addressed environmental concerns, professor dismissals and police presence during student protests, including the Pride parade.
