Turkish military forces and Turkish-backed militias bombarded the M4 road and the rural area of Ayn Isa (Bozanê) in the city of Raqqa in northern Syria. Xalid Rîda Hacî Ebdo was killed, and Xetab Remezan Seîd was injured in the attack, according to reports by Hawar News on 15 July.
This attack is part of a continuing series of assaults by the Turkish state and its affiliated Islamist militias against North and East Syria. The assaults have targeted civilian infrastructure, including healthcare and energy facilities, leading to numerous civilian casualties.
The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) is preparing for upcoming local elections. The current attacks are perceived as attempts by Turkey to destabilise the region and hinder the electoral process. The sustained conflict underscores the ongoing violation in the region, with civilians bearing the brunt of the violence.
