People have been pulled injured from under the rubble after a seriously weakened six-story building collapsed on Sunday in Turkey’s southeastern province of Şanlıurfa (Riha), which had been affected by the 6 February earthquakes.
There were citizens around and traffic on the road in front of the building at the time of the collapse, according to the footage captured on CCTV.
Cries were heard indicating that people trapped under the rubble, Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeynel Abidin Beyazgül told NTV. Beyazgül said that the building was among the buildings to be demolished and entry to the building had been prohibited.
The Governorate of Şanlıurfa announced that search and rescue teams had been sent to the region.
