Bahoz Erdal, a top Commander of the People’s Defence Forces (HPG) shared his views on the recent cross-border operation of Turkey in Iraq and on the new US administration in an exclusive interview on Sterk TV.
Regarding the latest offensive of Turkey on Mount Gare in Iraq, Bahoz Erdal stated that if Turkey really had an aim to save the lives of the prisoners, they would have done it in diplomatic ways rather than bombing the region where the prisoners were kept.
“If they were sincere on rescuing the prisoners, they wouldn’t send 40 planes to Garê and bomb that camp. If 4 democrats who want peace would have come with the families of the prisoners, this issue would be easily solved,” said the top HPG commander.
“Turkey has plans regarding Mosul and Kirkuk. That is why they target Sinjar, Garê and Qandil,” he said.
He also urged the Biden administration in the USA to launch dialogue with the PKK as he mentioned that the USA also benefited from working with the Kurds in the past.
“The latest USA administration should adopt a new way of politics regarding the Kurdish question and this should include a common perspective. America worked with Kurds and it has benefited from it, not been harmed. What we say to the new administration of the USA is that, PKK is open to dialogue,” he said.
Bahoz Erdal also shared his evaluations on the latest situation in Rojava and Syria.
“In order to achieve stability and to ensure peace in Syria, Kurds also should be free. But it’s not only the Kurds. The problems of Druze, Alevis, Armenians, Circassians, and Assyrians should also be resolved, these peoples should also be free,” he said.
