Anti-Erdoğan petition reaches 17,000 signatures in Switzerland

3:30 pm 23/02/2021

The international, women-led “100 reasons to prosecute Erdoğan for his femicidal policies” campaign has exceeded 17,000 signatures in Switzerland.

Launched by the Kurdish Women’s Movement in Europe (TJK-E), the campaign continues to receive support from women throughout Europe, and aims to eventually collect 100,000 signatures opposing the Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Turkish-allied forces.

Kurdish Politician Döne Güzel said that women are still determined to grow the campaign. ”Since the campaign was launched, it has exposed the Erdoğan administration internationally. I can say that Swiss people have been showing great support to the campaign”, she said.

The campaign has reportedly reached women in 15 countries across three continents since 25 November 2020 when it was first launched. Approximately 50,000 signatures have been collected worldwide.
