As Turkey prepares to hold local elections this Sunday, the pro-Kurdish People’s Equality and Democracy Party (DEM) continues campaigning.
Ahead of the celebrations of Newroz, the Kurdish New Year, the party released a video focusing on the history of the Kurdish people. The video features a woman’s narration in Kurdish, accompanied by images of historical sites in Kurdish regions.
The video highlights the presence of Kurds throughout history, exploring the origins of the nation’s name and highlighting the struggles they have faced. It concludes with a powerful message: “Against invasion, oppression and plunder, we were here, we are here, and we will always be here.”
