📍 The streets of Europe witnessed protests following the killing of two Kurdish journalists in Iraqi Kurdistan. On 23 August, Gülistan Tara and Hêro Bahadîn were killed in an attack by a Turkish drone in Sulaymaniyah.
📍 The body of the murdered Kurdish journalist Gulistan Tara was sent from Sulaymaniyah to her hometown of Batman today. Before the departure, a ceremony was held, attended by many of Tara’s colleagues.
📍 A Turkish drone strike in Qamishli, northern Syria, on 28 August killed two civilians, Khalidee Miheemed Sheriff and her son Hejar Sileeman. The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) condemned the attack, blaming the Turkish state and its allied militias, while a relative, Ednan Sileeman, expressed deep sorrow over the loss.
📍 The search for 8-year-old Narin Güran, who vanished on 21 August in Diyarbakır, has intensified as concerns grow that she may have been abducted.
