The Jinen Tirejen Roje Initiative has stated that it has carried out several targeted actions to protest against the isolation conditions of the Kurdish Movement’s leader, Abdullah Öcalan, and political prisoners in İstanbul in Turkey.
A police station in Kanarya Street in İstanbul was targeted on 13 August using improvised explosives.
An armed confrontation occured with Turkish counter-terror units (TEM) and special operation units around and inside the station.
The initiative said: “Our units did not harm any civilians during the action. But the police caught two teenagers who they are torturing whilst in detention”.
A medicine processing yard and two vehicles were targeted and destroyed in Tuzla district of Istanbul on 15 August.
A vehicle belonging to Ottoman Homes (Osmanlı Ocakları) was reportedly also destroyed that same day in a district where many Justice and Development Party (AKP) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) supporters live.
