Several associations and organisations participated in the rally for the 15 February anniversary in Hamburg, Vienna, Oslo and Amsterdam. They campaigned for the freedom of Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan, and supported the hunger strike in Turkish prisons.
The Kurdish Human Rights Group (KHRAG), established in Cape Town, South Africa, and the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), the largest of the country’s three main trade union federations (with 21 affiliated trade unions) continue their “Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan for a just peace in Turkey” campaign.
The campaign seeks to encourage the United Nations (UN) to ensure the freedom of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan in order to promote peace in Turkey.
