Fesih Gündoğar is an artist/craftsman who is in love with Diyarbakir Fortress. He has reproduced the fortress as a minature by using basalt stones.
Gündoğar has previously made a model of Diyarbakır’s historical Sur district. It took him 21 years and 21 days to complete this work.
He explained his dedication to his goal and his future plans: “I started to make the stones of Sur in 2016 and so far I have completed 102 bastions. I am planning to complete the remaining six bastions and the other historical places in three years and after I finish my project I will organise workshops to teach my craft”.
Diyarbakir Fortress is on the list of UNESCO world heritage sites.
