Twin suicide bombings at a market in central Baghdad on Thursday killed at least 32 people and wounded at least 100 people, according to Iraq’s Health Ministry.
No one immediately took responsibility for the attack, but later on ISIS claimed responsibility for the attacks, according to Hawar News Agency.
Thursday’s attack that hit the Bab al-Sharqi commercial area in central Baghdad is the deadliest bomb attack in Baghdad since January 2018, when a suicide bomber killed more than 30 people in the same square.
The first attacker drew a crowd around him at Tayaran Square by claiming to feel sick, then detonated his explosives belt, the Iraqi Interior Ministry said in a statement.
