As tensions have intensified after the Sinjar agreement was signed between the Iraq government and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), the Sinjar Democratic Autonomous Assembly (MXŞD) decided to hold an extraordinary meeting on 30 November to assess the most recent developments in the region.
All associations, included the Autonomous Administration, the Sinjar Defense Units (YBŞ) and Ezidxan representatives attended the meeting in Xanesor People’s Assembly building.
After holding a moment of silence, MXŞD Co-Chair Xezal Reşo spoke and pointed out that they were going through a historical moment. Reşo stated that the freedom and autonomy of Sinjar was under heavy attack and there was a concerted attempt to destroy it. Reşo emphasised their determination to resist this assault, adding: “Our people should stand by our defense forces”. Other decisions made at the extraordinary meeting will shortly be announced.
