Protests marking the 15 February continue in Europe, led by the European Kurdish Democratic Societies Congress (KCDK-E) and the Kurdish Women’s Movement in Europe (TJK-E).
Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan was arrested on 15 February 1999 and subsequently imprisoned in Turkey. Ever since, the date has been marked as an “international conspiracy day” by millions of Kurds and many others.
Kurdish people and organisations in Europe took to the streets for the anniversary, and also addressed the Turkish military attack on Garê in Iraqi Kurdistan.
