The Kurdistan Red Crescent Society, Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê, has updated its appeal to the international community for the aid campaign it launched to support victims of the recent earthquakes in Kurdish-majority regions of Turkey and Syria.
Heyva Sor has spent some 1.8 million euros ($1.9 million) to date on relief efforts in Turkey and Syria, with 1.5 million euros going to southeast Turkey and 300,000 to north and east Syria, it announced.
The society has provided aid in the form of tents, stoves, blankets, food, hygiene products, milk, baby food and other essentials. The fundraising campaign and aid effort will continue as the situation remains critical for those affected by the earthquakes, it said.
