A French delegation headed by Stephane Romatet on Tuesday visited the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) to discuss the recent political situation in Syria and French government’s attitude.
During the visit, AANES Foreign Affairs Co-chair Bedran Çiya Kurd underlined that the military operations launched by the Turkish state have become systematic and targeted the infrastructure.
Kurd also drew attention to rapprochement between Damascus and Ankara saying that the negotiations between both countries will serve as an undermining of efforts for a political solution in Syria, and torpedoing international efforts and the path of UN Resolution 2254.
He also emphasised the need to support the stability of the region in political, economic and humanitarian aspects as a result of the constant Turkish bombardment and drought in recent years.
The Crisis Affairs Officer in the French government Stephane Romatet indicated that the French government is closely following the developments in North and East Syria adding that the French government will continue its support for the people in the region.
Romatet added that French government will also have its presence in the region until the end of anti-government terrorism operations.
The meeting took place between the French delegation, Bedran Çiya Kurd, Fener Al-Kait members of the administrative body Khaled Ibrahim and Gulistan Ali.
