International supporters celebrate the achievements of the revolution and call for solidarity to defend it from Turkey’s threatened invasion.
The founder of the Green Party in Australia, Hall Greenland and the International Relations Officer from the Socialist Party of Malaysia Choo Chon Kai celebrated the tenth anniversary of the Rojava revolution by sending solidarity messages to the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) praising it’s achievements.
Hall Greenland from the Green Party in Australia stressed the uniqueness of this revolution by pointing out the emancipatory and egalitarian features of the revolution.
“Humanity owes the Kurds of northern Syria a great deal,” Greenland said. “You have pioneered a society of free and equals involving people of all races, all ethnicities, involving women, in an extraordinary experiment that’s worked, of participatory democracy on a very large scale.”
“It seems to me inspirational in the same way as the Paris Commune of 1871, Petrograd in 1917, Barcelona in 1936-37 and Budapest in 1956,” he added.
Greenland also called for international solidarity with the revolution to resist against the aggression of Turkey and anybody else who wants to interfere in what he described as ‘this noble, courageous and extraordinary experiment’.
Choo Chon Kai, the International Relations Officer from the Socialist Party of Malaysia also sent a message to the ANNES and described the revolution as an ’emancipatory project for a future when Kurds and Arabs, Armenians and Assyrians, Muslim and Christian or basically the people from all walks of life, regardless of ethnicities and religions, gender and sexual orientation will live peacefully together and strive to reshape the world by overcoming capitalism and imperialism.’
“The Rojava Revolution is a shining example in the 21st century that achieving another world is possible even in the most difficult situation.” said Kai.
“The Rojava Revolution is an inspiration for all of us who are committed to the struggle of social emancipation, peace and justice.” added Kai and warned against Turkey’s attacks.
