The 20th Geneva International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH) has announced its winners at the world premiere on March 4-13, 2022. “Angels of Sinjar” by Hanna Polak has been granted two awards in the category of creative documentaries at the 20th FIFTH.
The documentary movie “Angels of Sinjar”, directed by Hanna Polak, received the awards of the “Gilda Vieira de Mello Prize” and “International Jury Prize”.
Hanna Polak’s documentary focuses on the 2014 ISIS genocide against the Yazidi people in the city of Sinjar in northern Iraq, telling the story of Hanifa and her struggle to rescue her sisters from ISIS captivity as well as their strength and courage.
