Since 31 July several reports about attacks of Turkish forces and local Turkish government controlled armed groups have been published by ANHA.
The most recent incident experienced by villagers in Tell Tamer took place in the village of Um El Kef when Turkish government affiliated armed groups shelled the village on Wednesday.
“It was around 3 am when the shelling began. The occupying Turkish state intensely bombed the village, they even bombed the animals. We were together with another woman, who was wounded on her leg due to mortar explosions,” Sebah Xalid, who was among those villagers who survived the shelling, told ANHA.
Xalid survived the attack, as they left home when the shelling began and passed the night in a safe place.
Later she shows her home and the unexploded missile that hit her house and still stands amid the debris of her crushed wall.
“My home was targeted. We have proof here. Due to the intensity of the mortar attack, we could not see beyond the end of our nose. If this missile that hit my home had exploded, a disaster would have taken place.”
Due to the heavy shelling in the rural areas of Tell Tamer, locals have began to flee from their villages. Some of the villagers told ANHA that since they were in fear of their lives, they were now sleeping outside of their homes.
Meanwhile, the fighters of the Tell Tamer Military Council responded to the attacks in an attempt to defend themselves against the fully-equipped Turkish affiliated groups, who are supplied with high tech weaponry and logistical support from the Turkish military.
On 4 July, mortar shells hit the village of Derdare in Zirgan district of Tell Tamer, causing material damage in the village, according to ANHA.
Since the 4 August, local forces backed by Turkey have transferred armoury to a 17-kilometre front line in Tell Tamer and Zirgan as the Turkish military has located tanks and panzers in Tell Tamer, according to local sources.
Local sources also told ANHA that the numbers of fighters of the local armed groups backed by Turkey have increased in the villages of Rihaniyê, Qasimiye, Til Minax, Raşidiye, Lêlan and Erbain whilst Turkish survelliance drones have kept the region under constant survelliance since the early hours of Wednesday morning.
ANHA also reported on 2 August that Ayşe El Hesen, aged 40 and her 4-year-old son Hisen Salim were wounded in Tell Tamer by a mortar shell fired by Turkish forces.
