An ambitious and innovative concert programme – “Voice of the Past; Amida Concerts” – is being organized in Turkey by Diyarbakır’s (Amed’s) Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DTSO).
The concerts are scheduled to take place in ten historical venues in Diyarbakır (Amed) and will also appear live on digital broadcast platforms.
The first concert will be held in Hasuni Caves on Friday, 16 October at 20:00. Santurs, violins and tambourines are featured instruments and clams produced from the dengbêj tradition – which blend Kurdish cultural components such as literature, religion, folklore and history – will be performed.
Following the Hasuni Caves concert, there will be a piano concert in Zerzavan, a natural rhythm orchestra performance in Ergani and a tembûr concert in Keçi Burcu.
DTSO’s Deputy Chairman Ercan Tayınlamak stated that Diyarbakır’s cultural values from the past to the present are not well known and that this concert programme is aimed at increasing awareness and supporting cultural diversity.
