A defendant who was wanted but never arrested over a case regarding three members of a Kurdish family killed in 2018 by relatives of a deputy of Turkey’s ruling party died in a hospital during a medical operation on 16 March. The bodyguards and relatives of an MP from Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) attacked Şenyaşar family members at their family shop on 14 June 2018 and injured five family members in the Suruç (Pirsûs) district of the southeastern Urfa (Riha) province. As a result of the attacks that continued in the hospital where the wounded were taken, Hacı Esvet Şenyaşar and his sons Adil and Celal Şenyaşar were murdered. It has been revealed that İbrahim Yıldız, who was determined by the cameras to have caused the death of the Celal and Adil brothers with a gun but could not be caught for five years despite the arrest warrant on his name, died in a private hospital on Thursday where he had surgery in the southern province of Mersin. It was also revealed that Yıldız, who died during the operation, married AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız’s sister’s daughter three years ago and had a child, despite an ongoing arrest warrant. Turkey’s pro-Kurdish opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Co-Chair Pervin Buldan and an accompanying delegation visited Emine Şenyaşar, the mother of the deceased Adil and Celal, on Friday, who has been holding a daily justice vigil outside Urfa Judicial Buildings for more than 700 days. Emine Şenyaşar's struggle for justice has become the cry of millions, Buldan said, stating that they would be with the family until justice was served. “Thousands of unsolved murders took place, and we all demand justice.” said the HDP Co-Chair. “We know that this government cannot provide justice. However, we have an election ahead of us, and we would like to reiterate our belief that a new government and a new understanding of the administration will resolve all these."
